Sarah Jane

I started the hypnobabies program at 30 weeks, and often fell asleep
listening to my CD's, and wondered if I was really getting all the
information I needed. My husband told me later that while at home,
he listened to me snoring between pressure waves. LOL. I was not
always good about listenint to the daily affirmations however, but
kept the CD in my car to listen to.

My pressure waves started Sunday May 7th at 2:30 am. I listened to
my scripts until
7:30 am, when they were consistently under 5
minutes apart. We left for the hospital, which is very close to our
home, and upon arriving was assessed at being 5 cm dialated. Once I
was settled in my room, and breathing through waves, my husband got
out my CD's and I started to listen, but was having a hard time
concentrating, so I turned it off and used the relaxation cues/
visualization, finger drop technique, which I found helped much
better. I progressed very quickly (much quicker than my Doc had
anticipated) and at 10:15 am
got up to get into the shower, as I was
having some back pain. My husband started the shower, and I sat on
the toilet as he adjusted the birthing ball and shower. It was then
that I had an overwhelming urge to push. My Doctor had left and just
made it back in time :) Sarah was born 20 minutes later.  My mother
was amazed...as she had gone to get a snack thinking she still had
lots of time!! She arrived just as Sarah was crowning. (My mom is
now a believer in the hypnobabies program.)
We left the hospital the next afternoon, and Sarah has been a
content, calm baby. We are truly blessed. Thanks hypnobabies!!!!
