Leah's Birth

Hello all,
I have been a little out of touch since last week, and it's because
last thursday my water broke!!  We long story short I labored for
about 24 hours, never got past 5 cm, and we decided to do a
cesarean.  It was not what I planned at all but I was still so
pleased with the experience, I felt very in control the whole time,
all decisions were left up to me, DH was WONDERFUL, so supportive
and just amazing.  I really do think the hypnobirthing training
helped in that I was able to stay very in touch during the whole
labor, and was very at peace with things not going according to my
original plan and still very in control of what things we wanted to
try.

Anyway, Leah was 2.5 weeks early (although I think it's really
closer to 2 weeks based on when we concieved) but in great health, 7
lbs 14 oz, 19 inches long, a full head of hair and beautiful baby
skin.  She is really the lovliest baby I have ever seen, we are so
very enamored with her!!  I also am recovering well, we've gone on a
few outings since then and everyone keeps telling me they're amazed
I'm up and about a week after.

I think that next baby we will do the hypnobabies home study just to
see, my practice does VBAC's and the doc who did my surgery was very
understanding and careful about doing a VBAC-able incision and
such.

I too would love to share with people that even if things don't go as planned with a birth hynobabies/hypnobirthing can still be SO helpful to your mental state.  I know it was for me.
